How to get there
Flying to Dortmund Airport (DTM)
Dortmund has its own airport, which is located about 20 minutes from the city center. It is a local and efficient airport with direct flights from many Eastern European cities such as Istanbul, Budapest, Vilnius, and Warsaw. An airport express bus takes travelers directly to the city center of Dortmund.

Flying to Duesseldorf (DUS)
Duesseldorf Airport offers world-wide air connections. It is located about 60 km away from Dortmund and is connected to the Dortmund main station by regional trains RE1 or RE11, as well as the S1 train of the S-Bahn line. Duesseldorf Airport is a 1-hour drive from Dortmund.

Flying to Cologne Bonn (CGN)
The Cologne Bonn Airport, along with Duesseldorf Airport, is also a good option for travelling to Dortmund. The distance of 100 km to Dortmund main station can be covered by train in less than 2 hours.

Travelling by land
International travel options to Dortmund also include international train services. Direct connections are from Vienna (11-hours), Paris (5-hours) and Bern (5-hours). Trains run frequently from Berlin, Hamburg and Munich to Dortmund, which are big hubs for European train connections.
The campus of the TU Dortmund University is also located in the dense network of highways of the Ruhrgebiet. The best interstate exit to take from the A45 is Dortmund-Eichlinghofen (closer to Campus Sued) and from the B1/A40 is Dortmund-Dorstfeld (closer to Campus Nord). The campus offers many free parking lots where cars can be left during the conference.

Travelling by train
From Dortmund main station, the TU Dortmund University and the conference venue are reachable by taking the S1 train from the S-Bahn line. Inside Dortmund City there is an extensive network of local trains, trams and buses.

The H-Bahn (Suspended Monorail System)
The suspended monorail system or so-called H-Bahn is one of the hallmarks of TU Dortmund University. The station Dortmund Universitaet S is directly located at the S-Bahn line station, which connects the university with the city of Dortmund and the rest of the Ruhr area. Also from this station, there are connections to the Campus Sued every five minutes.
