A warm welcome

The 1st Excited Colloquium

We are delighted to invite all interested parties to the 1st Excited Colloquium (DAC 2026) at TU Dortmund University from 6th to 8th October 2026.

Inspired by the meetings of the interdisciplinary community of the DFG-SPP 2102 ‘Light controlled reactivity of metal complexes’, which concluded in spring 2025, the objective is to establish a forum for scientific exchange and future collaborations for doctoral students, postdocs and, naturally, principal investigators.

The thematic scope of the conference will be characterized by phenomena of photophysics and photochemistry of molecular excited states, and will address questions of spectroscopic and theoretical description, as well as synthetic control and design of the targeted properties.

The presentations are reserved for doctoral students, and each participating group may present one lecture and two poster contributions. The participation of additional members of the working groups is welcomed. The program will be rounded off by two plenary lectures by established scientists.
